The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand the mechanisms of control of the function of the reproductive system and the breast, which are a basic condition for achieving the best possible results in terms of well-being, breeding and utilization of productive animals. Specifically: Upon successful completion of the course the student will have: (1) understood the meaning of the productive properties of livestock animals, (2) will have delved into the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of the reproductive process (stimulation, ovarian cycle, role of reproduction and (3) will have understood mechanisms that will contribute decisively to the management of animals and will allow the immediate intervention of the Animal Scientist in the phenomena of reproduction and milk production (reproductive yields, artificial insemination, diagnosis of pregnancy, lactation) the sustainability of farming which depends mainly on the level of yields and the quality of the products produced.
